World number one (Novak Djokovic) wins at Madrid to cat home his record 29th masters title.

It was another feather to the cap of world number one (Novak Djokovic) in Madrid. Beating British number one Andy Murray.
The Serbian broke in second game of the match before claiming first set 6-2, Murray rallied by winning the second set 6-3 but was unable to push on as Djokovic took final set 6-3 for his first victory in the tournament since 2011
The dominant hold of Novak over Murray continues as he handed him his twelfth defeat in thirteen meetings to claim a record 29th masters title at the Madrid open.
Djokovic thanked Murray later for a notable moment of sportsmanship towards the end of the match. The Serb had been warned for a time violation by umpire Mohamed Lahyani but Murray immediately stepped in, insisting: ‘I made him wait. He was ready five seconds ago.’

Djokovic tweeted Murray: ‘Really grateful and honoured to have witnessed your sportsmanship tonight. Tennis is lucky to have you as ambassador. Thank you.’
The quirks of the ranking system mean that Murray now drops below Roger Federer – who did not even compete in Madrid due to a back injury - to world No 3 after failing to defend his title.
The legendary footballer Luis Figo and wife Helin Svedin was also spotted lapping up all the action, feeding their eyes with the glamour on display by the two best players in the world.
Murray remained upbeat despite the defeat. He said: ‘It’s been positive from where I was a few weeks ago going into Monte Carlo. I’ve played some really good stuff. I’ll see what happens in the next few weeks.

‘I’m definitely moving better (on clay), that’s for sure. It makes a huge difference. I’m not going on the court feeling a bit nervous or apprehensive. I believe I can play well on clay now.’

His victory against Murray was his 15th straight win over a top-10 player and a boost to his confidence as he looks ahead to another attempt at claiming his career Grand Slam in Paris later this month.

Along with Djokovic, Murray now travels straight to Rome for an opening match on Wednesday against Croatian Borna Coric or Kazakhstan's Mikhail Kukushkin. Sealing the second seeding for Roland
